Homeless Outreach, Saturday December 19th

You are invited to participate in the next homeless outreach with Grant Kim. We will meet at the commuter lot at the intersection of Page Mill Road and 280 at 4:30 pm and together travel up to Haight Street in San Francisco.

Sunol Hike Saturday November 14th

Come out and join us for a hike through the Sunol Wilderness in the east bay. This hike is a moderate hike with a few strenuous bits. We will look at the fall colors falling from the trees and maybe run into a cow or two. After the hike we will go to lunch in Fremont (about ten minutes south of Sunol) at Mission Coffees and More.
They have great food and lovely coffee drinks.

For South Bay people:
Meet at the Kohl’s parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and we will car pool to Fremont.
For East Bay People: We will meet you at the 680/Mission Blvd park in ride at 9:00 and then drive to SUnol Regional Wilderness which is about 10-15 minutes from Fremont. The ultimate goal is to be at Sunol parking lot by 9:30 so if you wish to meet us there be there by 9:30. We will hike for a few hours.

Their soccer field requires a lot of work and it is quite expensive to maintain. Come join us on October 31 at 8:30 in the morning in East Palo Alto. We will be pulling weeds, planting seeds, cleaning trash, filling gopher holes and doing core aeration.

Tuesday Night Dinner(s)

You are invited to our regular Tuesday Night Dinners!

This event has been a regular one, twice a month, as a fellowship night. This event does not intend to be exclusive, so please invite friends. It is intended to bring Christian people together in our approximate age range and build on the fellowship we have. Most of us have been associated with Impact / Sanctuary. These events are casual. We may play games, like "4 on the Couch", "Egyptian Rat game" or other board games, or just talk! We can also go to other places later on, but for now I want to keep it very regular, in the same places. There is a tremendous amount of us down in this south bay area.

Fleet Week Hike - October 10th

You and your friends are invited to join us for a difficult but fantastic hike from Powell street to Sausalito Saturday, October 10th right in the midst of Fleet Week: the Blue Angels and the like will be flying over head the whole way.

This 10 mile hike has steep hills, winding stairs and a good 5-6 hours of walking. We’ll go in stores, see the Emporium dome, peak into the cable-car house, get our free sample of Ghirardelli chocolate and watch cruise ships pass under our feet and jets fly over-head as we walk across the Golden Gate. Then we’ll ride a boat back to the Embarcadero for dinner in the city at Osha (amazing Thai food).

If you want to bike this instead of hike, Ambert Jue will be leading bicyclists through the city and attempt to cross paths with us during the day.

Castle Rock Hike - Saturday Sept. 12th

You and your friends are invited to go on a hike this Saturday, September 12th at Castle Rock in the Santa Cruz Mountains. First we’ll meet at Starbucks on Big Basin Rd. (Saratoga Ave.) in downtown Saratoga 14410 Big Basin Rd. (Hwy 9) and head up from there. I’ll be at Starbucks early at about 9:00 AM, then we head up at 9:30 AM sharp to Castle Rock’s trail head. After the hike, we’ll head out for lunch.

What? Hike: Castle Rock in the Santa Cruz Mountians. Moderate with some dangerous cliffs and slippery stairs.

Where? Meet at Starbucks, 14410 Big Basin Rd. (HWY 9)

When? Sat. September 12th: 9:30 AM Sharp, we leave Starbucks (be there at 9:00 to join me for coffee)

Prayer Walk - July 18th - CANCELLED

On Saturday July 18th, we will be doing a San Francisco Prayer Walk. We will meet at 2pm at the Page Mill Parking lot at the intersection of 280 and Page Mill Rd. We will drive to Golden Gate Park. We will be praying for the homeless, the unchurched and for the Bay Area. Dress so you can sit on the grass. Afterwards we will have dinner. Perhaps Cha Cha Cha's or Squat and Gobble. We should be back by about 6:00 pm.

Monday Night Hikes

You are invited to join us for Monday night hiking (Every Other Monday) throughout the summer at Rancho San Antonio. Hikes will be a few miles long, nothing treacherous, and we’ll be back by dusk. Be at least a few minutes early – parking can sometimes be a bit tight in there. Carpooling is recommended. Meet Pat or Alisa by the restrooms/drinking fountain.

Saturday Work Crew - July 18th

Note: This event is now taking place as Gonzaga's Memorial, which will occur on July 18th.

On Saturay July 25th we will NOT be doing a Saturday Work Crew, but normally Saturday Work Crew will occur on the last Saturday of every month. The work crew will do a wide variety of miscellaneous projects: pull weeds, paint, move couches, whatever.

Typically we'll work 9-1 and then have lunch together as a group. SWC will work for anybody in Impact and this can be a way we serve each other. SWC will also work for folks outside of the group as a ministry to serve folks in our community.

Bayshore Christian Ministries of East Palo Alto is putting on a weeklong summer camp for foster children ages 7-12 in San Mateo County. "Signs of Hope Camp" runs from August 16th - 21st. Seeking volunteer counselors and staff to help with Bible teaching, drama, music, recreation, sports, arts & crafts, photography, scrapbooking, logistics.

Love in Action -- Community Outreach Day

On Saturday May 9th Impact and Summit are sponsoring the first Love in Action Day. On this day we will be doing 5 separate projects in the Silicon Valley area. Participants must sign up (Sign-up sheets will be available at Impact).

Note that we are no longer offering the San Jose Family shelter because slots have filled up and they cannot accept any more volunteers.

early afternoon. 1PM – 4PM.

Bayshore Christian Ministries:

Tourist Walk in the City, Saturday April 4th

You are invited to join me for a long day in the city—we’ll start out early in Golden Gate Park and check out the lines at the new Academy of Sciences (most likely won't go inside this trip), go into the greenhouse, walk around Stow Lake, go to the busiest Dim Sum place in the world for lunch, then over to the mysterious lighthouse at Point Bonita behind the land-before-time door. Rain Cancels this event!

Short Hike and Breakfast– The Dish Saturday March 28th

What? You are invited for a short hilly hike (3-5 miles) around Stanford’s famous Dish (their radio telescope). There are 3 entrances, we’ll enter at the Alpine Gate off Alpine Road. When we’re done we’ll go to breakfast.

Homeless Outreach, March 21st

You are invited to participate in the next homeless outreach with Grant Kim. We will meet at Page Mill Road at 5:30 and together travel up to Haight Street in San Francisco.

For this outreach we'll participate in an outdoor worship event and hand out food and clothing. If you'd like to donate new socks or a sleeping bag that would be great!

Pi Day

WHAT: Celebrate Pi (aka π or 3.14) day with dinner, pie, and games

We aren't doing a visit to the DeAnza College planetarium because it will be too difficult to pull off.

The main course (Chicken pot pie) will be provided.

WHEN: Saturday, March 14th at 5:00 PM: Dinner starts at 6:00 PM

WHAT TO BRING: A pie, drinks or a salad. Prizes will be awarded for the best pie, the best looking pie, and the most creative pie.

Castle Rock Hike - January 31st

You and your friends are invited to go on a hike this Saturday, January 31st. We will hike Castle Rock in the Santa Cruz Mountains. First we'll meet at Starbucks on Big Basin Rd. (Saratoga Ave.) in downtown Saratoga 14410 Big Basin Rd. (Hwy 9) and head up from there. I'll be at Starbucks early at about 9:30 AM, then we head up at 10AM sharp to Castle Rock's trail head. After the hike, we'll head out for lunch.


What? Hike: Castle Rock in the Santa Cruz Mountians.


Where? Meet at Starbucks, 14410 Big Basin Rd. (HWY 9)


When? Saturday January 31, 10 AM Sharp, we leave Starbucks (be there at 9:30 to join me for coffee)


What to bring? Hiking shoes, backpack, water, $6-15 for lunch money

Difficulty? This hike is of moderate difficulty with slippery steps and dangerous cliffs and about 1000 feet in elevation change. The hike will be close to the one described here: http://www.bahiker.com/southbayhikes/castlerock.html
