Hiking on 12/26--Castle Rock

Come out for a post Christmas hike with Rebecca and Alisa!

We will hike Castle Rock State Park. This is a lovely wooded area if you have never been before with moss covered trees and rocks. There are some steep parts, but they can be easily managed if you are not a hiker. Bring layered clothing, lots of water and snack foods. After the hike we will go to lunch in Saratoga Village at a sandwich shop called Blue Rock Shoot.

When: Wednesday, December 26th, 9:30 AM

Where: Meet at the KOHL's parking lot off of Hamilton Ave in San Jose. (Hamilton and 880)

From there we will carpool to Castle Rock and should be there about 10:15 AM

Note: there is a 70% chance of rain tomorrow but we will not let it deter us from getting out and enjoying some exercise. Castle Rock is mostly covered by trees, but please bring a rain jacket just in case.

Beach Bonfire This Saturday!!!!

Com out this Saturday for one last hurrah to summer. We will have a beach bonfire at Seabright Beach. I will provide the hotdogs, hamburgers, all the fixings and a few other treats for a nominal fee. Game Night at the Homeless Shelter - EHC

You and your friends are invited to join us Friday night for Game Night at EHC (Emergency Housing Consortium). We'll get together to play games and have fellowship with the residents. This is a great way to get out and show God's love to someone in need. Many opportunities are available to share about your own faith or just listen.

Fleet Week Hike

You and your friends are invited to join us for a difficult but fantastic hike from Powell street to Sausalito Saturday, October 6th right in the midst of Fleet Week: the Blue Angels and the like will be flying over head the whole way.

This 10 mile hike has steep hills, winding stairs and a good 5-6 hours of walking. We’ll go in stores, see the Emporium dome, peak into the cable-car house, get our free sample of Ghirardelli chocolate and watch cruise ships pass under our feet and jets fly over-head as we walk across the Golden Gate. Then we’ll ride a boat back to the Embarcadero for dinner in the city at Osha (amazing Thai food).

Missing the Monday Night Hike? Wondering when they will start again? Well I have good news for you we will start the hikes again September 10th. Prior to that I will send out information on where they will be and so on. We were going to meet this Monday but it did not work out.

August 21 - Philippines Groups Homes (PGH) Prayer Team

Menlo Park Presbyterian Church is exploring a partnership with International Justice Mission to help develop aftercare homes to serve victims of human trafficking in the Philippines. A core group led by Lynette Hsu will be responsible for overseeing the development of the homes and a prayer team is being formed to support the mission. The Prayer Team is seeking individuals who would be committed to meeting monthly and as needed to pray for the mission and issues that may arise throughout the group home development process. An initial meeting was held on Tuesday, July 10. It is envisioned that the Prayer Team will meet the second Tuesday of every month, but the actual schedule will be confirmed at the August 21 meeting.

Hike July 7th--Garrapata State Park

Come out and join us for a hike in the beautiful Carmel Valley. I have never done this hike before but it promises to allow us to enjoy some beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. (fog permitting of course)
After the hike there is the possibility that we can go to dinner at Christian's favorite restaurant in Monterey called Rozine's. (home of the awesome and tasty French Dip sandwich)
Hike Details
Meet at KOHL's parking lot in Campbell at 9:00 am. This Kohl's is in the same shopping center as Bed Bath and Beyond on the corner of 880 and Hamilton.
We will leave shortly after 9 and should arrive at Garrapata to hike at about 11:00 am.
We'll then hike for as long as it takes, with stops for lunch, picture taking and resting...
Please be sure you bring lunch, snacks, water, sunscreen and a good attitude.

Impact 4th of July Party

Come out to Impact's 4th of July Party at Kathleen Low's home in Redwood City. This promises to be the event of the season. Christian will be grilling hotdogs on the grill and Kathleen will be baking cakes. At the end of the night there will be a fireworks display that can be easily seen from downtown Redwood City, a short walk from Kathleen's house will enable you to see the fireworks display.

Join Impact and other friends for a hike from Hidden Villa! It's the lovely, quiet neighbor to Rancho San Antonio, in the Los Altos Hills

- When: Meet at 9:15. Hike leaves at 9:30 sharp

IMPACT Kick off retreat for the 2012-13 year

September 7 – 9, 2012!

Come join other Impacters for a weekend of camping at beautiful Manresa right on the beach just south of Santa Cruz. Enjoy sleeping in tents,  cooking around the campfire, sharing devotions and testimonies as well as hiking and swimming in the ocean.  This trip is a great way to get to know others!
